John has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate development and finance. John leads development across all product types throughout the Southeast for Cousins' Development Group and leads the company's office leasing and asset management activities.

 

Before joining Cousins in 1996, John managed the acquisition and operation of more than 20 operating companies with combined revenues of $1.6 billion. Prior to that, John was a loan officer for Wachovia Bank's Commercial Real Estate Finance Division, where he managed a portfolio of secured office and industrial loans.

Memberships and Civic Involvement: John, who is a member of Leadership Atlanta's Class of 2001, serves as a director for the Midtown Community Improvement District, a director and treasurer for Sheltering Arms Early Education and Family Centers, the chairman of the Atlanta Police Foundation, a director of Georgians for Passenger Rail, a director of Secure America, and a director of the McColl Foundation. He serves on the Davidson College Board of Visitors and is an elder and member of First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.
